[FAIE: Tourism and Travel Management] Final Round of the Competition “Talented Tourism Students – Season 3”

On April 17, 2025, the Faculty of Management – International Economics, Lac Hong University, successfully organized the Final Round of the competition “Talented Tourism Students – Season 3,” featuring outstanding contestants from Lac Hong University.

The competition aimed to create an academic playground where Tourism students could showcase their professional skills, strengthen their confidence, enhance presentation abilities, develop problem-solving skills, and gain exposure to real-world professional contexts. As an annual activity of the Faculty, the competition contributes to bridging training with practice, aligning learning outcomes with application-oriented professional standards.

The event attracted a large number of students and distinguished guests. The atmosphere was dynamic, professional, and inspiring, creating a finale night rich in both emotion and academic quality.

After several intense and well-prepared competition rounds, both in content and presentation, the judging panel selected the most outstanding contestants of the season:

• First Prize: Võ Thị Thùy Vân – Class 22QD111

• Second Prize: Hoàng Thị Hải Yến – Class 22QT112

• Third Prize: Huỳnh Bích Liên – Class 22QD111

• Consolation Prizes: Phạm Nguyễn Ngọc Phát and Phạm Kiều Quỳnh Chi – both from Class 22QD111

The quality of a specialized competition is inseparable from the expertise of its judging panel. This year, the competition was honored to welcome leading experts in the tourism field:

• Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tân – Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Innovation and Startup Advisory Council, Member of the National VSMA Council, Co-Head of the Design Thinking Community, Dean of the Faculty of Management – International Economics, Lac Hong University – and Head of the Judging Panel.

• Mr. Vũ Đức Cường – Head of the Department of Tourism Operations and Tour Guiding, LHU.

• Mr. Huỳnh Tô Vũ – Director of Ngoi Sao Bien Hoa Co., Ltd.

• Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Khuê – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Hoa Binh Xuan Loc College.

• Ms. Trần Thu Hương – Lecturer in Tourism, Dong Nai Technology University.

With extensive experience, the judges provided insightful professional feedback, helping guide contestants toward further development in their future careers.

Through the competition, students developed essential skills such as destination presentation, tourism scenario handling, professional communication, and teamwork—key elements in the professional toolkit of Tourism students. Moreover, the competition offered opportunities for students to engage with industry standards, enhance self-learning capacity, and build confidence in public performance.

Sharing after the competition, many contestants described the experience as invaluable in helping them recognize both their strengths and areas for improvement. Võ Thị Thùy Vân, the First Prize winner, emotionally shared that her success was not only the result of personal effort but also the dedicated support of lecturers and encouragement from classmates and friends. Other contestants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to challenge themselves, learn, and grow through a serious and professional academic competition.

Concluding its third season, the “Talented Tourism Students” competition continues to affirm its practical value in enhancing professional competencies and nurturing passion for tourism among students of Lac Hong University. It also clearly demonstrates the Faculty’s educational orientation—integrating theory with practice, connecting the university with enterprises, and aligning student training with real-world societal demands.
