ELEVATING EDUCATION AND FOSTERING SUSTAINABLE IMPACT
In an era characterized by globalization and a rapidly escalating demand for high-caliber human resources, proficiency in foreign languages, particularly Chinese, has emerged as a pivotal enabler for global career and academic opportunities. Lac Hong University (LHU) is proud to unveil the INTENSE Chinese Language Training Program, a sustainable educational initiative generously supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan. This program significantly broadens international learning and employment prospects for Vietnamese students and a diverse range of learners.
This program, fully funded under the MOE's INTENSE Scholarship framework, is meticulously designed to cultivate a strong foundation in Traditional Chinese language and Chinese culture for international students aspiring to pursue Master's degrees and professional careers in Taiwan.
Beyond offering 100% tuition and material fee waivers, the program integrates an equality education model, ensuring accessibility for a wide spectrum of participants—including third-year and fourth-year undergraduates, recent graduates, faculty members, and even external students—at a minimal cost.
Through 300 hours of instruction over seven months, participants are expected to achieve TOCFL A2 or HSK3 proficiency. This achievement grants them a seamless transition to the INTENSE Master's program, complete with a full scholarship, a monthly living allowance of NT$10,000 (encompassing government and corporate scholarships), and long-term employment opportunities post-graduation. Monthly assessments cover all four language skills and pronunciation, ensuring participants' serious commitment and long-term dedication to completing the program—a clear reflection of the lifelong learning philosophy embedded within SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Impact & Core Values:
The program not only imparts linguistic knowledge but also substantially contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by generating high-quality career pathways for students. With over 380 participants and more than 300 individuals successfully completing the initial phase, this initiative stands as unequivocal evidence of LHU's profound impact. The 100% tuition waiver for the Chinese language course, coupled with the opportunity for graduates to enroll in the International Industrial Talent Education Special Program organized by the MOE (Taiwan) — which provides comprehensive scholarships and employment benefits such as tuition support, living allowances, airfare, and work opportunities in Taiwan — demonstrates LHU's strong commitment to reducing financial barriers (SDG 1: No Poverty) to accessing quality education.
As a tripartite collaboration among the university, government, and enterprises, this program directly contributes to the "Relationships to support the goals" and "Education for the SDGs" categories of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It strengthens international cooperation and advances education for sustainable development objectives, while simultaneously contributing to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the cultivation of an internationalized, inclusive, and sustainable academic community.
