Reported by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the wave of semiconductor industry in Vietnam has accelerated since 2023. In the past nearly 2 years, many of the world's leading semiconductor companies from the US, Japan, Korea, and Europe have invested in Vietnam with foreign capital up to billions of USD. There are currently more than 50 foreign semiconductor enterprises that have set up their factories in Vietnam such as Intel, Marvell, Amkor, Cadence, Renesas, Coherent, Tripod...

Dong Nai is an ideal destination for many foreign investors in the semiconductor industry. The province has lured a total registered capital of about 110 million USD through 4 semiconductor projects from Coherent Group (USA) since the beginning of the year. Several semiconductor companies plan to make new investments and expand their investments in Dong Nai.
“LHU is a special educational institution that has received the direction from the Provincial Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung in orienting the development of digital transformation, AI, semiconductor technology, and microchips based on strategies for developing the key economic region and the semiconductor industry in Dong Nai. Since late 2023, LHU has focused on developing the semiconductor field and identified it as a strategic mission. Additionally, on December 23, 2024, LHU will officially inaugurate the Semiconductor Lab, located on campus 1. This is also the first semiconductor lab in Dong Nai dedicated to training a high-quality semiconductor workforce" Mr. Quynh added.
