Beyond the classroom: LHU students' six-week learning journey in China

After six weeks of studying, training, and exploring Guangdong province, China, 36 students from LHU successfully completed the 2026 International Summer Camp "Chinese Language + Professional Skills". The closing ceremony was held on July 31, 2026, at Zhongshan Torch Polytechnic, marking another successful milestone in the academic cooperation and student exchange program between the two institutions.

A “two-in-one” education model designed for LHU students

The International Summer Camp "Chinese Language + Skills" was designed around an integrated model that combines Chinese language training with professional skills development. Throughout the program, students not only enhanced their Chinese language proficiency but also acquired professional knowledge and practical skills aligned with the evolving demands of the global job market. This training model enables students not only to use Chinese in daily communication but also to gradually apply the language in academic, professional, and international environments.

Through this experience, students developed a professional mindset, adaptability, and proactiveness in pursuing future opportunities for study, internships, and employment.

Exploring Chinese enterprises and advanced technologies

One of the highlights of the program was a series of study visits to leading enterprises and technology companies in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other localities across Guangdong province. 

Sharing her six-week journey in Guangdong, Thong Ngoc Lien, a student from class 23DT113, said "The program provided me with a dynamic learning environment and many new experiences. The lecturers were always supportive and encouraging, giving me the confidence to use Chinese every day. After six weeks, I feel much more confident in communicating in Chinese. I also gained many necessary skills for my studies and daily life while expanding my future career opportunities".

Six weeks of living and studying in China provided LHU students with experiences that extended far beyond a conventional training program. In addition to improving their Chinese listening, speaking, and communication skills, they also had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture, lifestyle, and educational environment.
