The counselling session featured distinguished guests, including Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Higher Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Training, who provided crucial insights into the 2025 university and college admissions regulations. Dr. Thuy elaborated on the upcoming regulations, which have been developed following consultations with experts and higher education institutions. The official regulations are expected to be released this February, serving as the foundation for admissions processes for both institutions and candidates.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy presented the new features of the soon-to-be-issued university and college admissions regulations.

Key changes in the 2025 admissions regulations include:

  • - Universities will no longer conduct early admissions, adhering to a unified admissions process.
  • - Direct admissions will be conducted strictly in accordance with the Ministry’s regulations.
  • - Universities using high school transcripts for admissions must consider the full academic year of grade 12.
  • - Institutions are required to ensure equivalency across admission methods and subject combinations.
  • - Foreign language certificates will not be awarded 10 points in the high school graduation exam; however, universities can convert these certificates into foreign language scores for admissions. Thus, students with qualifying certificates may opt out of the foreign language exam.
  • - The minimum score thresholds for health sciences and teacher training programs will remain unchanged. (Notably, LHU achieved an impressive position in SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being, ranking between 401-600 globally in the THE Impact Rankings 2024.)
Lac Hong University representatives also awarded scholarships to outstanding students facing financial hardships.

This university admissions counselling event directly contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), primarily SDG 4: Quality Education. By providing students with accurate and timely information, Lac Hong University and its partner institutions are empowering them to make informed decisions about their future, ensuring equitable access to quality education. This initiative aligns with the United Nations' vision of fostering lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Furthermore, this engagement strengthens Lac Hong University's position in the THE Impact Rankings, particularly concerning SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. By supporting students in pursuing higher education, especially in health-related fields, the university is contributing to a healthier and more prosperous society.

Counseling support staff actively assisted students in registering and learning about the academic programs offered by Lac Hong University.
